What next?

It's been 2 weeks since we received our referral. (seems like we've known him forever)

What are the next steps? Well, we are waiting for our agency's in-country staff to finalize the paperwork and submit it to the courts. This step, on average, takes about 4-8 weeks with the court date being about 3 weeks after that. So, you do the math. We have a slim chance of making it through courts before they close in August for 2 months. *sigh*

If we make it through with a positive judgment, Randy will travel probably in August or September.

If we don't, then we have to wait until the courts open back up in October and apply for a new court date. (Along with the many folks who completed their referral and paperwork while the courts were closed.) This would most likely put Randy traveling November or December. (maybe later, worst case scenario)

So, for now, we wait. Have you noticed a pattern yet. The hurry up and wait pattern. Such is the cycle of international adoption.
