Same 'ole, same 'ole. Based on yesterday's conference call with the agency, things are still status-quo. Meaning, not much chance of getting a positive judgment at our court date on Thursday.
That said, the agency is hoping things will start to move in a couple of weeks. Not sure if that will help us or not. Courts close August 6th/8th. They won't reopen until October. So we have until August 6th to get a positive judgment. If not then, we'll have to wait til October and get a new court date. There is a backlog of folks waiting for judgments of around 20+ folks. (for our agency alone)
Surprisingly, I'm not terribly stressed about this. In the whole scheme of things, what can you really do? It'll happen when it is supposed to happen. We've been through worse. Let's see, in the middle of our last adoption, the agency announced they were going out of business. They did 'finish' all in-progress adoptions. It was just a bit tedious to say the least. Then of course, who can forget Sawyer's story. Being told your son will not live to see his first birthday makes this little 'frustration' seem, just that, little. Both Ansley's adoption story and Sawyer's health scare had happy endings. This story will too.
To be continued......
